My wife Judy has been following with interest the fortunes of her
namesake, the Mommy-To-Be Judy doll. Today she brought to my attention
a news item about my namesake, the Judy doll's husband Charlie.
According to the Asbury Park (NJ) Press:
In honor of Father's Day, the Charlie doll went on sale
Friday as a mate for the pregnant female doll, Judy. Their
maker, the Judith Corp., has given both of them wedding rings.
What Charlie was not given is the physical attribute
normally associated with paternity.
"I bet I know what's next," quipped my wife Judy. "An anatomically
correct Bill the Mailman doll."
