My girlfriend related me this conversation which took place at her
family's dinner table some months ago. Her sister was asking her father
for money to buy a certain lingerie item, and the father was
demonstrating his well-known thrift.
SISTER: Dad, I need $10 for a new bra.
FATHER: I'm not giving you $10 for anything, especially a bra!
SISTER: My father doesn't give me any support!
